Audited Supplier Guide rail: A groove or ridge made of metal or other materials that can withstand, fix, guide moving devices or equipment and reduce their friction. A longitudinal groove or ridge on the surface of a guide rail, used for guiding and fixing machine components, specialized equipment, instruments, etc. Guideway, also known as slide rail, linear guide rail, or linear slide rail, is used in linear reciprocating motion scenarios. It has a higher rated load than linear bearings and can bear a certain amount of torque, achieving high-precision linear motion under high load conditions.
The guiding device in the electromechanical integration system generally refers to a guide rail, which is composed of moving parts and supporting parts. During the operation of various machinery, the correct motion trajectory of the actuator is ensured by the guide rail pair. And the guide rail also affects the motion characteristics of the actuator.
As a guiding device, the guide rail should have the following performance:
(1) Guidance accuracy mainly guides the accuracy of track motion trajectory. The main factors affecting guidance accuracy include the geometric and contact accuracy of the guide rail, the structural form of the guide rail, the stiffness and thermal deformation of the guide rail and its supporting components, and the oil film thickness and stiffness between the static (dynamic) pressure guide rail pairs.
(2) The accuracy retention is mainly determined by the wear resistance of the guide rail. Wear resistance is related to factors such as the material of the guide rail, the friction properties of the guide rail pair, the pressure on the guide rail, and its distribution pattern.
(3) Stiffness includes the stiffness of the guide rail itself and the contact stiffness. It mainly depends on factors such as the shape and size of the guide rail, the connection method of the supporting components, and the stress condition.
(4) Low speed motion stability: When the moving guide rail undergoes low-speed motion or slight displacement, it is prone to frictional self-excited vibration, namely crawling phenomenon. Crawling can reduce positioning accuracy or increase the roughness of the surface of the workpiece being processed.
Lubrication and protection of guide rails
1) The function of guide rail lubricant
(1) Make the guide rail work as close as possible to the liquid friction state to reduce friction resistance, reduce driving power, and improve efficiency.
(2) Reduce rail wear and prevent rail corrosion. The flowing lubricating oil also plays a flushing role.
(3) Avoid crawling under low speed and heavy load, and reduce vibration.
(4) Reduce frictional heat at high speeds and minimize thermal deformation.
2) Selection of lubricating oil for machine tool guide rails
Based on experience and data, the following factors are mainly considered when selecting lubricating oil for machine tool guide rails.
(1) Lubricating oil that serves as both hydraulic medium and guide rail oil. According to the needs of different types of machine tool guides, guide rail lubricating oil can be selected as a hydraulic medium, which should meet both the requirements of the guide rail and the requirements of the hydraulic system. For example, for machine tools such as coordinate boring machines, the viscosity of guide rail oil (50 ºC) should be selected higher (40-90mm2/s), but for various types of grinding machines, guide rail lubricating oil is often supplied by the hydraulic system.
