Hot rolled coil is made from slab (mainly continuous casting slab) as raw material, heated and then made into strip steel by rough rolling and finishing rolling units.
The hot rolled steel strip from the last finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature through laminar flow, and then rolled into steel strip coils by the coiling machine. The cooled steel strip coils are processed into steel plates, flat coils, and longitudinally cut steel strip products through different finishing lines (leveling, straightening, transverse or longitudinal cutting, inspection, weighing, packaging, and marking, etc.) according to the different needs of users.
Simply put, after heating a steel billet (which is the red and hot steel block that is burned on TV), it undergoes several rounds of rolling, edge cutting, and straightening to become a steel plate, which is called hot rolling.
Due to its excellent properties such as high strength, good toughness, easy processing and forming, and good weldability, hot-rolled steel plate products are widely used in manufacturing industries such as ships, automobiles, bridges, construction, machinery, and pressure vessels.
With the increasing maturity of new technologies for controlling hot-rolled dimensional accuracy, shape, surface quality, and the continuous emergence of new products, hot-rolled steel plates and strip products have been increasingly widely used and have stronger competitiveness in the market.
Product classification
Hot rolled steel plate products include steel strips (coils) and steel plates cut from them. And steel strips (coils) can be divided into straight hair coils and finished coils (divided coils, flat coils, and longitudinal cut coils).
Main products
Hot rolling can be divided into ordinary carbon structural steel, low alloy steel, and alloy steel according to their different materials and properties. According to their different uses, they can be divided into: cold formed steel, structural steel, automotive structural steel, corrosion-resistant structural steel, mechanical structural steel, welded gas cylinder and pressure vessel steel, pipeline steel, etc.
Production process
The hot-dip galvanized hot-rolled sheet production line adopts the improved Sengimir annealing process, with the raw material being hot-rolled and pickled sheet coils. The production process is as follows:
Hot rolled pickling plate coil → uncoiling → cutting head and tail → welding → inlet looper → improved Sengimir method horizontal annealing furnace → hot galvanizing → cooling after plating → zinc layer thickness gauge → smooth leveling and straightening → passivation treatment → inspection table → electrostatic oiling → coiling → weighing and packaging → finished product warehousing.
