There are many similarities between grade stainless steel pipes and industrial stainless steel pipes, but there are also some key differences between them. Here are some suggestions on how to distinguish between these two types of pipelines:
1. Usage: Sanitary grade stainless steel pipes are mainly used in industries such as food, medicine, and biotechnology, and their inner walls are required to be smooth, free of impurities, and easy to clean. Industrial stainless steel pipes are widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and power, and require high pressure and corrosion resistance of pipelines. In terms of pressure resistance, the pressure resistance performance of sanitary grade stainless steel pipes is usually lower than that of industrial pipes. As for the size, the regulations of different standards (such as 3A, DIN, etc.) are also different. During the production process, the wall thickness can be maintained within the range required by the customer.
2. Material: 304 stainless steel industrial pipes have relatively loose requirements for chemical elements. According to different requirements for temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, different types of materials are usually required, and special materials can also be customized according to customer needs. However, sanitary grade stainless steel pipes have strict regulations on the content of major elements such as chromium, nickel, sulfur, and carbon. The commonly used materials are American standard 316 or 316L (DIN standard 1.4434, etc.) and 304 stainless steel.
3. Surface treatment: From the appearance, the industrial grade stainless steel pipe has a snow-white appearance. And sanitary grade stainless steel pipes are polished both inside and outside, with a smooth surface like a mirror. The surface treatment requirements for sanitary grade stainless steel pipes are higher, usually requiring polishing, electrolytic polishing, and other treatments until the inner wall mesh reaches 0.4 μ About m to achieve higher cleanliness and smoothness. The surface treatment requirements for industrial stainless steel pipes are relatively low, and methods such as acid washing and sandblasting can be used for treatment.
4. Testing standards: The testing standards for sanitary grade stainless steel pipes are more stringent and need to comply with relevant national and industry standards. For example, for food grade stainless steel pipes, they need to comply with relevant standards such as GB/T 12771-2017 "Metal Materials and Products in Contact with Food". The testing standards for industrial stainless steel pipes are relatively loose, mainly based on the technical requirements of the manufacturer for testing.
5. Price: Due to the high production process and material requirements of sanitary grade stainless steel pipes, their prices are usually higher than industrial stainless steel pipes.
6. Tolerance: The types of seamless sanitary stainless steel pipes include seamless sanitary stainless steel pipes and seamless sanitary stainless steel pipes. Its characteristics include high-precision tubes, with an outer diameter limit deviation of ± 0.02mm, an inner diameter limit deviation of ± 0.025mm, and an inner hole circumference tolerance of 0.020mm. The outer diameter range is 8mm to 60mm, the wall thickness range is 0.4mm to 0.9mm, and the steel pipe length range is 1.5mm to 6.0mm.
