1, Introduction to SA387Gr5CL2
SA387Gr5CL2 is an American standard container plate suitable for welding chromium molybdenum alloy steel plates for boilers and high-temperature pressure vessels. With the rapid development of the natural gas industry, the corrosion problem of oil casing caused by @ 185 * 3755 * 9190 @ # CO2 has become an urgent problem to be solved in the natural gas extraction process. Cr can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of steel, especially when the Cr content in the steel is greater than 12%, the corrosion resistance of the steel can be significantly improved, but it will increase production costs and also affect the welding performance and mechanical processing performance of the steel plate in the later stage. Research has shown that when the Cr content is between 5% and 12%, steel plates also have good corrosion resistance. Therefore, SA387Gr5CL2 steel with a Cr content of about 5% has been developed. This steel not only has low production costs, but also has good corrosion resistance, and is increasingly widely used in the fields of natural gas extraction and transportation.

Steel plate delivery status: delivered in an annealed, normalized, and tempered state, or when agreed by the purchaser, accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature using blast or liquid quenching, followed by tempering.

SA387Gr5CL2 requirements
1. All steel plates should undergo simulated post weld heat treatment on the sample blanks used for inspection. The simulated post weld heat treatment refers to two situations: the upper limit of post weld heat treatment  and the lower limit of post weld heat treatment (Min. PWHT) that may be reached during container manufacturing,2. The heat treatment process is determined by the manufacturing plant, but when determining the degree of post weld heat treatment process, consideration should be given to repairing the post weld heat treatment once at the equipment manufacturing plant and once at the site of use
7, SA387Gr5CL2 Application
SA387Gr5CL2 steel plate can resist corrosion generated during petroleum cracking. Under high temperature conditions, steel with oxidation resistance, sufficient high temperature strength, and good heat resistance is called heat-resistant steel. This grade of steel plate belongs to the alloy steel category, which has good oxidation resistance at around 650 degrees Celsius, good thermal strength below 600 degrees Celsius, and good shock absorption and thermal conductivity. It is widely used in steam turbines
