The equivalent grade of this type in American Standard is AISI Type 304 steel."SS" is short for "Stainless Steel", "SS304" is short for "Stainless Steel 304". SUS304 means 304 stainless steel under Japanese standard.316Ti (UNS S31635) is a titanium stabilised version of 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The 316 alloys are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304.Stainless steel types 1.4401 and 1.4404 are also known as grades 316 and 316L respectively.
